Project Overview
SafeCity is a civic-tech platform designed to empower citizens and communities by providing a seamless way to report infrastructure and environmental issues in their neighborhoods, such as broken streetlights, potholes, street littering, power outages, and exposed wires. By connecting citizens directly with decision-makers, SafeCity bridges the communication gap, ensuring real-time reporting, transparent tracking, and data-driven insights to make cities safer, more coordinated, and efficient.
Developed during the Africa Agility Hackathon, SafeCity transforms complaints into actionable change, promoting accountability and community engagement. Starting with a pilot in Nairobi, the platform targets Kenya’s urban population, with plans to scale nationwide, leveraging the country’s growing digital adoption and urgent need for transparent civic solutions.
